definately decorate as you like...it is a festive time of the year and we always bring out our holiday decor on Turkey Day as well...

I think you are fine putting up your holiday decorations. Doesn't it all blend into one really long holiday in the end? I find Thanksgiving-related decorations boring anyway. They are all brown.

I think the school thing really varies by the school, not just the district/city. Zakariah's school provides a fruit or veggie choice for snack every day. The kids are also asked to bring a box of crackers to share for those that want more than the fruit or veggie or just won't eat that particular choice. Healthy was very much encouraged but not necessarily enforced.
Strangely enough, the pictures also vary-- at Zak's we were able to choose the background color as well. Tiny's old school used a different photographer than most of the other school's in our district to--my sister and brother went there for a few years too.
